A study of key protests in Manchester in which people ‘made history’ through strikes, struggle and campaigns. From Peterloo, the Chartists, and opposition to slavery; struggles over unemployment, access to the countryside, and against fascism; against Section 28, and of the Stop The War campaign. This ten week course is a learning experience from the Workers' Educational Association in association with the People’s History Museum.
