Evening Lecture with Roger Box Thursday 27 October, 7- 8.30pm Roman coins were not only day to day currency, they were a method of communicating information and state propaganda throughout the empire. They are a valuable source of information that gives an insight into the very centre of Roman power and thinking. Using original coins, Roger Box will interpret the meaning and translate the messages coins convey. Roger Box is a retired forensic archaeologist, numismatist and war crimes investigator with four decades of specialist knowledge in Roman and Medieval coinage.
