As mentioned in previous journals the Association will be running a study weekend in Portsmouth. The theme will be the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines and their role in the Napoleonic Wars. We are delighted to be basing our operations out of the Royal Marines Museum at Eastney Esplanade Southsea.
Saturday - morning- tour with guide of the Royal Marines Museum
pm - Royal Navy Dockyard and an opportunity to visit up to 6 attractions including the new Mary Rose gallery, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, HMS MV33 of Gallipoli fame and the Museum
Evening- Meal at The Wellington in Old Portsmouth
Sunday - morning . Royal Marines Museum presentations on some of the actions involving the Royal Marines in the Napoleonic Wars (Santander)

pm- In the last footsteps of Lord Nelson. We will follow Lord Nelson's last walk on dry land from the site of the George in Portsmouth to the beach at Southsea where the launch was waiting to take him to the Victory and immortality.
