Wiltshire's Story in 100 Objects

Wiltshire Museum is the final stop on the spotlight tour of the Lacock Cup, which the Museum jointly acquired with the British Museum. The Lacock Cup is one of the most significant pieces of secular English medieval silver. Inspired by the British Museum/BBC Story of the World in 100 Objects the exhibition tells a story of Wiltshire in 100 objects, using museum collections from across the county. The objects on display illustrate the diverse aspects of Wiltshire's past from Stonehenge to the Moonrakers and much more besides. The exhibition also reflects the varied nature of Wiltshire's museums, including small village museums, industrial sites and art galleries. The 100 objects are an assorted mix when put together, like a cabinet of curiosities, and each has its role to play in telling part of the Wiltshire story. The exhibition will be on show at the Museum from 16 May to 16 July 2016. Normal Museum admission prices apply.
