UCL Museums and Impropera present the Theatrically Re-imagining Collections seminar day. Whether its dance, opera or drama, museums all across the country have been working with theatre companies to imaginatively interpret their collections to reach out to audiences.
Are you a museum professional interested in understanding more about how to work with performance companies to engage audiences? Or a performer who would you like to create work inspired by amazing spaces and collections?
Join UCL Museums as we, with the help of Impropera, theatrically re-imagine the ‘conference’, and hear from the experiences of museums and performance companies who have successfully collaborated to produce innovative work.
We are currently working on the line-up and will announce the range of speakers in the next few weeks, but already confirmed is the Made By Katie Green Dance Company and Ipswich Museum with the Imagination Museum and the Against Captain’s Orders at the National Maritime Museum.
Join us for an inspirational and though provoking day as we disrupt and unpick current practice around performance in museums and ask are museums the new theatres?
Tickets are £33 for the seminar day and booking is essential, this includes refreshments and lunch. During the evening Impropera will stage Muso at the Grant Museum of Zoology, a combined ticket for the seminar day and the performance is £42.
