Ministry of Women: A Day Dedicated to the Graphic Novel with Birmingham University

This summer sees the culmination of a project examining the role and perspective of female soldiers in the army over the past 100 years, with artist Carol Adlam and writer Helen Cross. We are excited to be producing a graphic novel, ‘Ministry of Women’, which draws on stories from our Collection, as well as work with female veterans and women currently serving in the army to understand, reveal and better represent historic and modern voices of army service. Over the next few months we're celebrating the results by taking the finished graphic novel on tour. In partnership with Birmingham University, join our writer Helen Cross and artist Carol Adlam for a free morning workshop about making graphic novels, followed by an afternoon panel discussion alongside artist Tom de Freston and publishers SelfMadeHero.
