Ministry of Women: Laydeez Do Comics

This summer sees the culmination of a project examining the role and perspective of female soldiers in the army over the past 100 years, with artist Carol Adlam and writer Helen Cross. We are producing a graphic novel, ‘Ministry of Women’, which draws on stories from our Collection, as well as work with female veterans and women currently serving in the army to understand, reveal and better represent historic and modern voices of army service. Over the next few months we're celebrating the results by taking the finished graphic novel on tour. We're excited to be appearing at Laydeez Do Comics in London, a group that brings together those who make comics and those who love comics. Along with the help of Carol Adlam and Helen Cross, we'll be discussing how we made our graphic novel and reveal how it has helped us tell the stories of women in the Army.
