Roman Society Day Conference – Stories in Stone

Special Event Saturday 14 May, 10-4pm A day of lectures discussing the Religious, Iconographic and Epigraphic significance of Romano-British Sculpture from the Cotswolds. Speakers will include Miranda Aldhouse-Green, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology at Cardiff University, whose main research areas lie in the archaeology of religion and ritual in Iron Age and Roman Europe, with particular emphasis on Iron Age art, Roman-period sculpture, druids, and human remains, and Dr Martin Henig, Oxford University, whose specialist interest in Roman Sculpture led him to write “The sculpture of the Cotswold Region.” This conference has been made possible with support from the Roman Society.
