Since 2011, the editors of Delayed Gratification, the Slow Journalism magazine, have been mounting a challenge to the ever-increasing speed of the digital news cycle. At this Slow Journalism Night, they will try to make sense of the turbulent year of 2015.
2015 was a major year in design and as Designs of the Year comes to close, we’ll reflect on some its most significant projects to date as well as some of the things that could have been included. It was also a year bookended by terror attacks in France and California, 2015 also saw political upheaval in the UK, the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, continued conflict in Syria and Yemen, and an unprecedented refugee crisis in Europe. But what happened after the reporters packed their bags and moved on? And which events didn’t receive the media coverage they perhaps deserved?
Expect a series of captivating and insightful talks and presentations looking at design and the broader picture, as well as prizes to be won in our Slow Journalism Quiz of the Year.
