Organ Festival

The organ festival is a great weekend to experience the wonderful sounds of mechanical organs from large fairground organs to small hand organs and more. From the magical chimes of music boxes to the evocative sounds of fairground organs, Milton Keynes Museum will be alive to the sound of music. The festival offers a chance for older visitors to relive the soundtrack of their youth, and for youngsters to fall in love for the first time with mechanical music. Exhibitors will be coming from far afield, bringing with them everything from small hand organs to spectacular fairground showpieces. All have been lovingly restored to perform as their creators intended. Some of the organs have been built and you can meet and talk to their creators. Along with these special displays the Museum has many of its own musical exhibits which visitors will be invited to try out for themselves. Don’t miss the display of beautiful musical boxes inside the farmhouse. Or the miniature steam traction engines who will be adding their touch of magic to the the event. All this at no extra cost on top of usual admission prices. The Museum is open both days from 11am-4.30pm.
