The Power of Petitions

Follow the Chartists and suffragettes and write your own petition to make your voice heard! This workshop will give a hands-on experience of the most popular way ordinary people made their voice heard before democracy. If you’ve ever signed an e-petition, come and see how they used to do it! Dr Henry Miller (University of Manchester) will provide a brief, accessible overview of the history of petitioning right up to the present day. Part of Parliament Week 2015.
