The Clock Tower in St Albans was built in 1405 and is the only medieval town belfry in England. Come and climb the 93 steps to the top of the Tower and enjoy the magnificent views of the Cathedral, the historic city of St Albans and the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
Just as the sun is setting at 7.30pm on Thursday (10th) the Tower will open for two hours for a chance to take photos of the sun setting and the evening night sky.
A short film of archive post cards of St Albans morphing into recent photos will be shown on the First Floor of the Clock Tower from 10.30am to 4.30pm each day from Thursday (10th) to Saturday (12th).
A temporary display will be on show on the First Floor of post cards and photos of the Clock Tower over the past 200 years and details of the dendrochronological date testing of the timbers.
Visitors to the Clock Tower will also be able to have a rare look round the Third Floor Room on Saturday (12th). This room houses the part of the clock mechanism that attaches to the clock face and is usually closed to the public.
