Heritage Open Days: Beck Isle Museum

Once poised to be the first agricultural college in England, the fine regency period house and grounds which overlook Pickering's picturesque beck have been home to Beck Isle museum since 1947. Packed full of exhibitions, objects and stories, the museum gives a taste of life in a rural market town in times gone by. Stop for a game of shove ha'penny in our pub, visit the chemist for a cure to your ills, head to the barbers for a close shave or drop into the blacksmith's for horseshoes and a wish in the well.
