Heritage Open Days: Mapping Collections
Our recent exhibition about Alfred Wainwright (creator of illustrated Lake District guides) has inspired us to have a look at what maps we have in our collection. Come along to find out what we have discovered. Staff & volunteers who look after the collections will be on hand as will visiting expert Martin Norgate who documents Cumbria’s maps and guides on www.geog.port.ac.uk. The museum galleries are open until 7:30pm. Wainwright exhibition on until November 8th.
