Heritage Open Days: Happy Birthday Smithy!

This year is a very special one in the history of the Smithy Heritage Centre - it's 20 years since it opened as a museum! Heritage Open Days marks the end of the Smithy's open season, and this year's grand finale will be jam-packed full of fun things to do for all the family - even the dog! To tie in with our dog-themed exhibition, 'Man's Best Friend', we'll be having a fun dog show on Saturday 12th September with help from the Dogs Trust - have you got a prize-winning pooch? On Sunday will be the third annual Great Eccleston Bake-off, so to celebrate the Smithy's 20th anniversary, bake a special birthday cake to be judged by St Helens WI - will you be the winner? There will also be family-friendly craft activities, interactive games and puzzles on both days. Refreshments will be served in the adjoining Village Hall, and you can even get some tasty treats for your pet in our Dog Cafe!
