Peterborough Museum Candlelit Ghost Tour

Dare you spend an evening in a haunted building, by candlelight alone? The museum is reputedly the most haunted site in the city, and one of the most paranormally active in the country, with many ghosts said to be lurking around the building. This tour sets out to uncover some of their stories… The tour is led by a costumed guide, who shows visitors around the building by candlelight, explaining the various paranormal happenings at the sites where they have taken place, including the back stairs, where people have reported a ghostly servant falling to her death. A phantom girl has been seen and heard in recent months, and you will also hear the story of the Museum’s most notorious ghost, the ‘Lonely ANZAC’ Thomas Hunter. Tickets for the tour are £5 for adults, £3 for concessions. Due to limited places, tickets are strictly pre-booked only. Tours last about 90 minutes. The tour is not recommended for young children or those of a nervous disposition, and due to the nature of the building is unsuitable for those with mobility impairments. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. For accompanied children, parental discretion is advised (we recommend no younger than 8-10 years due to the dark and scary stories). Tickets can be booked from Peterborough Museum on 01733 864663, or you can email museum@vivacity-peterborough.com.
