Firsts, Bests and Lasts Walk

Given that Peterborough has such a rich heritage, it’s unsurprising that it should have a few claims to fame, but the city actually has more than its fair share. It has an amazing amount of ‘Firsts’, ‘Lasts’, ‘Best’, ‘Oldest’ and various other things which may or not be records (but really should be…) Some of these include: - The last use of the Riot Act in England - The oldest Iron Railway Bridge in use in the world - The last place in Britain to have a Sedan Chair service - The biggest loss of life from a single family on the Titanic - The oldest communion set in the world - The first use of an X-ray machine in England (outside of London) - The world’s first prisoner of war camp These and many other fascinating, quirky and strange stories will be shared as part of this tour! The walk will last about 100 minutes and starts from Peterborough Museum on Priestgate. Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for concessions.
