Illiterate but Literary? The Censored Correspondence of Indian Soldiers in France, 1914-1918. Dr Dav

Poss on literature created by illiterate, poss on Indian perspectives of ther British troops in the trenches, comments on Western Front etc… Dr Omissi is Senior Lecturer in Modern History at the University of Hull. He specialises in the military history of the British Empire, with an emphasis on British India. He is the author of 'Europe Through Indian Eyes: Indian Soldiers Encounter England and France, 1914-1918', English Historical Review (2007). He is currently working on the Sikh experience of the First World War.
