Family History Day 2015

Launching this year’s Archaeology & Local History Fortnight (ELAF), our theme this year is all about how place, population and family are linked. This year we have speakers from Scottish Place-Names Society discussing Scotland’s Placenames, Alistair Moffat on Scotland’s Ancestral DNA, and Theresa Breslin on her WWI novels Ghost Soldier and Remembrance. There are also three workshops on different aspects of family history research, showing some of the essential resources available; archive treasures, online research help (including free ScotlandsPeople access) and interactive storytelling, crafts and a mystery coded trail for children!

Suitable for
