Museums at Night Film Show at Ullapool Museum

The Big Catch, directed by Laurence Henson, the story of youthful rivalry in a Highland fishing port, filmed in and around Ullapool in 1968. “Children's adventure. A young boy sets out in his father's yacht for an adjacent island to capture a wild pony. He runs into trouble and is rescued by his young friends who have followed in a trawler. They discover a vast shoal of fish and so save themselves from parental punishment.” The role of the boy Graham was played by schoolboy Murray Forbes whose mother was a cook in the Royal Hotel. Uncle Harry was played by the late Duncan ‘Ara’ Stewart of Ullapool. Well-known Scottish actors such as James Copeland and Willie Joss also acted in the film. Courtesy of Ullapool Entertainments.
