Ribchester Roman Museum & Operation Florian Bay Walk
The Ribchester Roman Museum & Operation Florian Bay Walk takes place on Sunday 8th June 2014 at 1.30pm. The event has been organised to celebrate and raise funds for the work of these two worthy causes. The stunning walk across the bay will be led by Cedric Robinson MBE, the Queen's Official Guide to the sands.
Ribchester Museum Trust is a registered charity dedicated to preserving, displaying and promoting the Roman archaeology at Ribchester, one of the northwest's most important Roman sites.
The event will also support the work of Operation Florian, a UK Fire Service Humanitarian Charity working to promote the protection of life amongst communities in need, worldwide, by the provision of equipment and training to improve fire fighting and rescue capabilities. RibchesterMuseum and Operation Florian have been working in partnership in Macedonia to provide assistance and advice for cultural organisations regarding heritage protection in Macedonia.
