Chaconne ou Passacaille

The Chaconne and the Passacaille were two popular styles of music in the baroque period characterised by their repetitive bass lines and extravagant ornamentation. Satoko Doi-Luck (harpsichord) presents a programme that compares Couperin’s Chaconne ou Passacaille, Duphly’s Chacconne and Passacaille from Handel’s G Minor Suite to investigate the distinction of each style.
