Dear Sir or Madam,
on the occasion of the international museum day, I was asked by the National Liberation Museum Maribor to devise a programme to delight both young and old. I had pondered long, yet failed to think of anything. It was only when I visited the exhibition in Maribor Photography Museum where I saw images of the Maribor promenade that I realised how long I had been missing this type of entertainment and socialising. On 16 May 2015 at 10 am, I will therefore be standing in front of the house at Partizanska 3 to surround myself with your company and set off for a slow walk around the city, to Glavni trg square and back, taking heed of all the promenade rules. You can by all means depart in the opposite direction.
We shall be regarding the promenade rules. Please do not at any time make a halt on the pavement to chat with your acquaintances. There will be certain spots designated for stopping and having a drink, without disturbing other people’s walk.
Do not miss this opportunity to meet. You are by no means required to dress in my fashion, matching the appearance of me and those accompanying me. However, it would make me all the happier to sense the spirit of the times past.
Ladies, if the weather is sunny, please remember to bring your parasol with. In case of rain, however, the promenade will be postponed for a week, hoping for the best.
Yours faithfully,
Franziska Scherbaum
