Cake and Stockings: The Gairloch Pattern Knit Off
Calling all knitters! Grab your needles and let's see if we can spin a yarn and knit it at the same time! Following the famous Gairloch pattern, we want to produce as many squares as possible while simultaneously eating delicious cakes and catching up on local chat.
For inspiration, we'll have some of the beautiful Gairloch pattern items from our collection on display and we'll be launching two unique knitting patterns which will be available for sale (we know you can't resist a new project!). Once we've brushed off the crumbs, we'll be stitching some of the squares together to create beautiful quilts for children in Inverness hospital. We have plans for some more of the squares too, with a bit of guerilla knitting to decorate the museum grounds!
