Night Safari: Time Machine

Enjoy a complimentary drink in Hintze Hall before starting your night safari. Hear from three Museum scientists, each sharing their insights into a different century of Museum history. Choose from the Discovery or Innovation Tour: Discovery Tour From the chemical makeup of meteorites to the first life on land, enjoy a diverse insight into Museum science. Discover cutting-edge imaging technology, dive into the astonishing tale of a ‘living fossil’, and explore Darwin’s evolutionary debate. Innovation Tour From 300-year-old specimens to translating the genetic code, discover the impact of technological advances and revolutionary ideas here at the Museum. Explore the founding roots of the Museum’s 80 million specimen collection, take a closer look at microscopic fossils, and uncover the DNA secrets of Museum specimens. After the talks, meet all six Night Safari scientists, handle specimens from our collections, and explore the Museum galleries after-hours. Please be aware that you may miss some of the activities if you arrive late. The event begins promptly at 19:00. We cannot allow entry into the event after 19:45 and no refunds will be given to latecomers.

Booking is required. Night Safari events are for those aged over 18. Disabled helper tickets are available upon request, subject to availability. Please note: we cannot offer refunds once you have purchased your ticket. If you need to change the date of your event, we are able to do this if you inform us at least 30 days before the date you originally booked.
