The Work, Rest and Play conference will examine the life of the railway worker beyond the traditional driver’s cab, seeking to define what ‘The Railway Family’ was, and how it can be discovered. Drawing on records from an extensive variety of sources and using practical case studies, historians, NRM staff and experienced genealogists will reveal some little-known facets of the wider railway community.
