Join us for the first workshop of the Museum of Zoology's 'Ocean Song: Sounds of the Sea' project collecting voices to create a soundscape of the sea for its new Whale Hall. Find out how animals make and hear sounds, and have a go at exploring your voice and creating different sounds for the atmospheric soundscape.
'Ocean Song: Sounds of the Sea' is a major project forming part of the redevelopment of the Museum of Zoology, collecting voices from people in Cambridge and beyond to create a sea soundscape to accompany our iconic Finback Whale in its new Whale Hall currently being built. This is the first of the workshops exploring the sounds of nature, how animals make and hear sounds, and then giving you the chance to explore your own voice to create sounds for our atmospheric seascape. Add your voice to the wind and waves in the new Museum of Zoology. No singing experience necesarry, just enthusiasm. This project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
This event is part of the Whale of a Time Family Day at the Polar Museum and is part of the Curating Cambridge programme.
