Art and commerce: the prints of Albrect Durer

Albrect Durer (1471-1528) was in many ways the first artist to achieve international fame, and this was mainly through his use of the medium of prints. In this lecture, Guilia Bartrum will look at how he introduced sophisticated Renaissance ideas to his prints, and how his background and contacts enabled him to create a market in which to sell them.
