Alert! Women scientists are missing from our history books. Could this be a stitch-up? Forget bronze or marble. Monumental Mancunians sculpted and staged by Helen Davies and Jenny White in Manchester Town Hall in colourful crochet include: botanist Dr Kathleen Drew-Baker, mathematician Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw and social campaigner Esther Roper. With the Warp and Weft duo play a crafty part in setting the record straight by adding tassels and colours to make a powerful new community banner about female scientists. No experience needed and all materials are provided. Part of the Colours, Community and Chemistry exhibition and Manchester Science Festival 2014.
