STUDY DAY: Introducing Surrealist Art and Design

STUDY DAY: Surrealism is one of the most influential art movements of the twentieth-century. Drawing on the imagery of dreams and the unconscious, the style celebrated the bizarre and the fantastic, and artists transformed ordinary objects in the worlds of fashion, film, interiors, design and theatre by invoking the extraordinary and the unexpected. This day explores the work of the main artists and designers associated with Surrealism, including Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Elsa Schiaparelli, Man Ray and Eileen Agar, and examines key works from the spheres of art, design, fashion and photography.
