Kirkstall Abbey

Kirkstall Abbey has been a local landmark in this area since its foundation in 1152. Even now we are still learning new things about the abbey and the monks and guests who stayed there. Come and explore what we know about Kirkstall Abbey from early reports and excavations and look at some of the finds from around the site. Learn about the 1980s excavations of the guest house, and discuss the latest research taking place looking at who was visiting the abbey and the hospitality they experienced in the Middle Ages.
