What Makes a Good Book? A talk by author Linda M James

What has a crime thriller got in common with a psychological thriller? Or an historical novel with a mystery novel? Or a memoir and an historical novel? What makes an interesting factual book? Why do we enjoy certain genres of books more than others? How do some writers make us eager to turn the pages of their book or keep us scrolling down a Kindle and others just don't? Come and learn the methods writers use to hook readers. This will be followed by a question and answer session so bring all your questions with you. Copies of Linda's novels and non-fiction books will be available to buy at the end of the evening.
