IMAGINE 2014 ECO FESTIVAL at Whitehall

Saturday 25th October 2-4pm – Autumnal Bird Watch: A gentle guided walk around the local parks, including Cheam Park and Nonsuch Park, looking at bird migration. The walk and talk will start and end at Whitehall, with refreshments available in the tea room at the end. For all ages Wednesday 29th October 2-4pm – Halloween ‘Homes for Wildlife: Make your own Bird Boxes’: Sutton Ecology Centre will be helping visitors to create bird boxes from kits, which can be decorated and taken home For all ages, 5+ Friday 31st October 3-5pm – Spooky Craft & Moth Trapping (Part 1): The Ecology centre will be talking to the group about moths and their environment and setting traps. There will be a related ‘spooky animal’ craft in the house, which will be used to decorate Whitehall for Halloween and participants are encouraged to attend the follow up session the next morning. For all ages, craft for 4+ Saturday 1st November 10-12pm – Moth Trapping (Part 2): The traps which were set the afternoon before will be explored in detail, with a representative from the Ecology Centre explaining to the group about the characteristics of the ‘butterflies of the night’. For all ages Between Saturday 25/10/14 and Saturday 1/11/14 Whitehall will be lit up green at night as part of the ECO theme of IMAGINE 2014!
