Coracle Making

Coracles are traditional riverboats. Round in shape, they are paddled with one oar. On this two-day course you will make a coracle covered in calico to take home, complete with paddle. You will be given instructions on how to finish your coracle at home by waterproofing. Finished coracles will be provided on the day to enable students to try out their skills on the Museum’s millpond. Please wear stout shoes and working clothes. If possible participants should bring a cordless drill and bits, a hammer, a hand saw and small G clamps. Course runs Saturday-Sunday 27-28 September.
