Don’t spend the summer doing nothing in particular - Get sticking, clipping, crafting, tweaking, creating, shaping and making. Eureka! The National Children’s Museum is inviting families to switch off their computers and tablets and get creative this summer at their six week event, Made By Me, running from 19 July until 31 August 2014.
Visitors will be able to express their creativity and explore their imaginations by making up stories, and by joining in with craft activities and performances both inside the museum and in its grounds.
Eureka! will be playing host to a range of artists, storytellers and makers such as Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade, Void Arts, Storyteller Ian Douglas and Showman Gary Bridgens, as well as a programme of workshops and activities exploring three different themes: Land of Make Believe, Our Wonderful World and Fact or Fiction.
The six week festival of creating will finish with a special Maker Weekend including the first official Halifax Mini Maker Faire on Saturday 30 August, where hackers, crafters and makers from across the UK will show off their creations and invite visitors to roll up their sleeves and get making. On Sunday 31 August then event will end with a very special appearance from CBeebies star Mister Maker.
Visit Eureka! to make this the summer you make something!
