Garden History Tours

Join one of our volunteers on a historical garden tour of the grounds immediately surrounding Kensington Palace which will explore the diverse history of the gardens as well as the recent development of the grounds. Discover the colourful characters that shaped the surrounding landscape over time and find out which king or queen kept wild cats in the Kensington Palace gardens! These FREE tours will allow you to admire the magnificent statue of Queen Victoria, pause and reflect by the iconic Gold Gates, and gain exclusive access into the beautiful Baroque-inspired Sunken Garden, which is normally closed to the public. Sign up at the Reception, located near the Palace Entrance. Palace ticket not required. Tours are held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1 May to 27 September 2014 at 12:00–13:00 and 14:00–15:00. Subject to availability. Tours may occasionally be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions – you may wish to bring an umbrella, water, sunhat or all three! Maximum 20 people per tour.
