Description
To celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Hanoverian Succession, Anciennes et modernes perform a programme of sonatas by royal musicians of the Georgian era. Works by Masters of the King’s Musick feature, as well as music for violin and continuo by royal violinist William Babell. The group will also mark the 300th anniversary of CPE Bach before ending with one of Handel’s dazzling sinfonias, estimated to have been composed shortly before he became Kapellmeister to Prince George in 1710.
