Heritage Skills Festival

Help us build Durham Cathedral in LEGO by placing real LEGO bricks on a scale replica of Durham Cathedral. When complete, the 300,000 brick model will span 3.84 metres in length, 1.53 metres in width and 1.7 metres in height. For every £1 donated, one LEGO brick is added to the model Cathedral, which will be at the festival every day. On Saturday 21 June, Cathedral Stone Mason Nigel Mawson will be demonstrating stone masonry by carving a giant sized LEGO brick in stone. Members of the public will have the opportunity to speak to Nigel about his work and have a go at stone carving themselves. The Heritage Skills Festival is a free event - organised by the North of England Civic Trust.
