The free interactive performance encourages the audience to be involved in the action whilst learning about what life was like on the home front in the First World War in a unique and exciting way.
The catalyst for the project was a World War I diary from the Museum’s collection, re-discovered in the collections store when the Museum moved premises in 2011. ‘Frank Went to The Front’ was created from the diary of a young boy, Eric, living in Slough during World War I and has been developed and adapted by the students of Royal Holloway University of London as a part of their Theatre for Young Audiences module.
The outdoor site-specific performance will be performed twice on Thursday 29th May in Herschel Park, both at 11.30am and an afternoon performance at 2pm. Both performances are free and there is no need to book. If you wish to attend one of the performances, meet outside the kiosk in the heritage park before the performance start time.
