It is 120 years since Cambridge’s pumping station, now home to Cambridge Museum of Technology, was built. To celebrate the occasion we will be stoking our boiler and waking up our collection of amazing engines which have been in hibernation over the winter.
We’ve got some great family activities planned. Children can become a Steampunk Animal Adventurer for the day. Make your own Steampunk animal mask then hunt for clues around the site to help our museum mascot, Sidney the Sewer Rat, defeat the mechanical cat. Come along and experience Cambridge’s industrial history in action!
Our print shop containing some fascinating historic printing presses will be open and visitors will be able to print their own souvenirs.
The museum is on Riverside, off Newmarket Road – just look out for our tall chimney!
