The Library of Ashurbanipal, King of the World
With Jonathan Taylor, British Museum. Ashurbanipal, King of Assyria (668–c. 630 BC), was a scholar as well as a supremely powerful ruler. His Library was the most important collection of writings before the Library of Alexandria. A collaborative research project based at the British Museum is now making it freely available in digital form. Taylor discusses the significance of the Library's collections and the aims behind bringing it back together
