Stuart Farmhouse Day in Pendean

Experience life in the 1630s by spending a day based in Pendean. Starting with a discussion of our interpretation of a yeoman farmhouse in Stuart times, we will cook a meal using period recipes, lay the table and sample it using the correct table manners of the time; do the housework; make butter in the milkhouse and investigated some remedies to ward off the ever present danger of the plague! Examples of Stuart clothing made by our Historic Clothing Project will be available to examine and try on.
