Make a Carpenter's Trestle

This workshop will give students the opportunity to use the steel square to line-out the trestle components. We will then cut and fit all the components for a Sussex style trestle, to take away with you. This will develop the students’ knowledge of the use of the steel square, gained on The Roofing Square workshop, but also can be taken as a stand alone course. Tutor Joe Thompson of Sussex Oak & Iron is carpenter in residence at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. He teaches a range of historic carpentry courses at the Museum.
