Veronese is one of the greatest Venetian painters of the late Renaissance, renowned for his exceptional use of colour and for his mastery of illusionistic decorations.
His major works are full of majestic architectural settings, theatrical spectacle and glittering pageantry. This course brings together experts from the National Gallery and the V&A to explore the art of Veronese and the Venetian Artistic tradition. It will also investigate the architecture and interiors of the period, and the fashions, ceremonies and individuals associated with high-society Venice.
