Icicles in the Trees: A Family Saga

The Fan Museum is proud to be staging the premier London performance of Icicles in the Trees, Adrian Drew’s new 'play for voices,' written to commemorate the 2014 Dylan Thomas Centenary. The action of this epic family saga takes place chiefly in a South Wales mining valley in the years between 1898 & 1998 and presents a kaleidoscope of seemingly random fragments from a past, now virtually forgotten, which coalesce into the compelling and moving story of a family in conflict – the impact of which is as far reaching as it is profound. Rich in the poetry and language of Wales, and influenced by Dylan Thomas's play Under Milk Wood, Icicles in the Trees, whichtours in the spring of 2014, has already gathered significant praise, and our production, featuring four accomplished Welsh actors, is certainly not to be missed. The play which takes place on St. David's Day – Saturday March 1st - runs for approximately 2hrs 20mts including Intermission. As seating is limited and a high demand for tickets is expected, early booking is absolutely essential. Tickets are £12 and include VIP entry to the Museum’s latest exhibition and refreshments during the intermission. The play is not suitable for people under the age of 16. Please arrive early as there can be no admission once the performance has started. Adrian Drew has written 20 plays and all have been performed on London's Fringe, three in regional venues, one Off-Broadway and one in Buenos Aires! His collection of short stories, Shadows on the Fens and a selection of his plays will soon be published by Inde-Books and Icicles in the Trees will be published by Bedfords Books, in a signed and numbered limited edition, to coincide with its performances in 2014.
