Traditional Music Day

Traditional Music Day takes place in the informal and intimate settings of the ancient barns, farmhouses and outbuildings – even an old “tin tabernacle” chapel - collected together at the Museum of East Anglian Life. The guest line-up is always small and eclectic, and an array of local traditional musicians, singers and stepdancers feature alongside the big names. An advance ticket is available from the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust www.eatmt.org.uk and gives you access to over 30 different events in many different locations on the museum site from 11 am to 5.30pm Concert programme throughout the day featuring special guests Stepdancing - the biggest annual gathering of stepdancers, featuring many from East Anglia Stories in the woods & songs in the stables Music & song sessions Afternoon ceilidh Talks about song-collecting and Gypsy wagons Have-a-go sessions - a chance to try out traditional instruments including melodeons and concertinas, mouthorgans, spoons and jig dolls
