Musical life in London was vibrant in the first half of the eighteenth century, just as it is now. Here, in the most metropolitan city at the time, styles and creativity met in a never-ending buzz. This programme includes music by the great Handel and his contemporaries - both colleagues and enemies. The very best virtuosi and composers came here from all over the continent as Handel himself did. Les Nations Réunies is an ensemble of musicians from different nationalities and aim to rediscover the true spirit of Handel’s London with its diversity and excitement. Les Nations Réunies are Ruth Bruckner (recorder), Yu-Wei Hu (traverse), Kunihiro Mimura (viola da gamba), Johan Löfving (theorbo) and Marie van Rhijn (harpsichord). The programme will include works by Handel, Geminiani and Roman.
