Open for Business

‘Open for Business’ is a major touring photographic exhibition which reveals the untold story of British manufacturing and industry through the lens of some of the world’s greatest photographers. Photographic commissions reflecting Britain’s changing industrial heritage take place at nine different sites between January 2014 and September 2015. Magnum photographer Mark Power’s stunning shots of Bombardier in Derby and Holdsworth Fabrics in Huddersfield demonstrate the UK’s transport industry is still thriving, showing the manufacture of carriages and their interiors in fascinating detail. Open for Business has been commissioned and produced by Multistory in collaboration with Magnum Photos and has been awarded partial funding from the Arts Council of England’s Strategic Touring Programme. Participating national galleries and museums include the Science Museum in London and the National Media Museum in Bradford.
