Seated woman. Her seat is flanked by papyrus and lily intertwined. This symbol, called the 'Semna' sign incorporated the plants of Upper and Lower Egypt and represents the unity of the two lands. The papyrus was the symbol of lower Egypt, the lily the symbol of Upper Egypt. Second Intermediate Period, 17th Dynasty.
