Candlestick

Part of a pair of Fable candlesticks. This candlestick illustrates Aesop's fable of the Fox and the Tiger. The tiger is seen seated with curling tail and head turned in the direction of its side which has been pierced by a barbed arrow. Crouching nearby is a fox naturalistically coloured with its head upturned towards the tiger. Both are seen against rich bocage with pink centred flowers and bright green leaves. Size: Height: 30.1 cm.
